We Sail Away!

Today we sail for Alaska, and this afternoon we meet our ship, the Norwegian Star, a most impressive vessel

Here is Marilyn unpacking in our cabin (#11632, to be precise) and here is another picture of our cabin.

The Nasers were right next door in a connecting identical room (#11636).

You can see Alex is very nervous and tense in anticipation of our leaving port.

Below we see Marilyn and Alex practicing to abandon ship should it become necessary to do so. At the right is the view of Seattle as we sail away.


After settling in to our new home-away-from-home and some exploration of the ship (Marilyn and I had cruised from Hawaii last year aboard the Star and so we were reasonably familiar with our new surroundings.), we had dinner at one of the many excellent restaurants on board,Versailles:

Again, the sensible ones among us went to bed, while some played cards into the night.
