October is here again and so the usual group of distinguished members of the New Hanover High Class of '53 has returned once again to have fun at Isle of Palms.

The cast of characters is only slightly changed but the venue is a major change! There was a fire at the house of previous years, but fortunately Mary and Jack own many others and we were able to stay at another of their estimable beach mansions.

At the right is the old house in its current state of repair. You can see it is unfit for human habitation.

As always, the most popular activities were eating and drinking.

Diane insists that we eat our green vegetables.

All this eating and drinking requires kitchen work.

There were the usual lively and exciting discussion groups.

Paul tells of the fish he caught.

I've heard it all.

Beauty and the Beast

Here we see a few folks enjoying one of the nightly talent shows.

At the left we see the audience thrilled by Frank's Highland Dancing.

To the right you can see folks amused by Fred's stand-up comedy act.

As you can see, the beach was, as always, wonderful. In fact, there was so much sunshine that for her walk on the beach Diane had to cover up almost completely in order to avoid a severe sunburn.
