Gene Watson

I started playing trumpet in the 4th grade and continued through high school. Then I was a member of the concert and marching bands at Mississippi State University from 1955 - 1959. I continued to play some during my working career with IBM from 1959 - 1991 in church services and other functions. When I met my future wife, Ethel, in 1960 little did I know that she bwould become my life-long accompanist since she is a pianist. We have played together in church and on other special occaisions ever since. We have done the music for the Atrium Georgetown Vesper Services in Dunwoody for the past 20 years. I was a member of the New Horizons Atlanta concert band from 2004 - 2008. In 2009 I joined the First Baptist Atlanta Worship Orchestra and play regularly there. I also joined the Southern Winds Band in 2009 after being recruited by Rich Woodham.

Ethel and I have been married since 1963 and have four grown children, two boys and two girls, who have blessed us with six grandchildren ages 1 - 18. Since we are both retired we enjoy travelling while we still can.
