Home Away From Home

Our home during our Florida sojourn was a luxurious apartment in the celebrated Quiet Waters condominium resort at Indian Shores, Florida. It was a fine place and it served us well.

Our condo was not on the Gulf but on the Intra Coastal Waterway--the ICW to the cognescienti. There was a pier into the waterway, and here is a picture of the pier. The other is the view of our place from the end of the pier. A very pleasant location.

There was, as you can, a very nice pool at our condo; none of us used it--in fact, I believe I am the only one of our group even to see it.

Here are a couple of shots of the beach across the street from our place. The building in the one on the right is the condominium complex in which Marilyn and I stayed last Spring.

Here are two pictures of last year's condo.

As always, Patty and Marilyn took excellent care of both Dick and me.

Here they are. In the picture at the left they are doing the wash, and in the one on the right they are repairing the plumbing. As has been well-demonstrated through the years, they can do it all.

Here we are resting between our almost nonstop activities.

There was, as ever, the usual bridge playing almost every night. For the first time in thirty years Marilyn and Patty were victorious in our bridge matches. This change in fortune must be a result of Sun spots, the recent Mars landing, or some other strange natural phenomena. Dick and I are confident that our innate card-playing skills will at our next meeting once again show themselves.

Here are Patty and Dick handling the vicissitudes of their bridge playing fortunes in two different ways. Patty is studying Omar Sharif's book on how to play championship bridge, while Dick is alone on the balcony marking the cards.

Dick's efforts were, alas, to no avail.

You can see I have my own method of dealing with my bridge troubles.
